Oklahoma welcomes guest speaker Teal Benevides, an associate professor at Augusta University, Georgia. Teal has a passion for addressing disparities & advocating for access to services for individuals with autism, including racial and ethnic minorities and adults with autism. Occupational therapy providers, allied health colleagues, educators, college students, legislators, and community advocates are welcome to register for Dr. Benevides' presentations: Friday with OU Dept. Rehab. Sciences & Saturday with OKOTA.

March 11, 2019 -  We had a successful "OT Day at the Capitol" with special guest speakers, resource fair of OT service companies, & advocacy efforts to promote telehealth and occupational therapy careers all around our state. Thank you Candace Shaw, telemedicine expert with Oklahoma Telehealth Alliance, and also Linda Alchami, occupational therapist providing telehealth OT in Oklahoma. Thank you, Senator John Haste for supporting our OT Practice Act update SB1038 successfully through the Senate, and for Representative Mickey Dollens, primary author as it goes to the House next!! Senator David, Rep. Lewis Moore, and Rep. Garry Mize also signed on to SB1038 in support of occupational therapy services! THANK YOU!
